Scott Pedder has won the Power Stage ahead of this weekend’s Rally of Queensland, beating his nearest rival by a whopping 10 seconds.

After championship leader, Brendan Reeves, crashed his Mazda2 on the qualifying run, Pedder drove his Renault Clio R3 to an easy win over the VW Polo Vivo of Michael Boaden.

Adrian Coppin’s Citroen DS3 R3T was third, a further second back, while Tony Sullens (Citroen) and Mick Patton (VW) both jumped the start and finished fourth and fifth.

The win gives Pedder five valuable championship points, and now sees him just 29 points behind Reeves.

Day 1 of the Rally of Queensland gets underway on Saturday morning.
