Young Australian, Rhys Pinter, will be aiming to avenge his Rally Australia demons after a disastrous 2016 campaign.
In 2017, the new, revamped team has never looked so good.
Partner and major sponsor, JDH Capital, will again join Rhys’ RP Rallysport team, alongside new sponsors Northrop Engineering Australia and Civil Transport.
Atlantic Oils have also been welcomed back as lubricant partner for Rally Australia.
These partners have given the team the injection of resources the car has needed.
‘It’s fantastic to have JDH Capital partner our team again for Rally Australia,” Pinter said.
“We had a great result in Canberra and they were ecstatic with the result, considering the new team structure.”
“Our sponsors have been fantastic in assisting our little team with the resources we need.”
“It gives me the confidence to push as hard as I can without having to worry about the car, and means I can show to the world what myself, and this car is capable of.”
Team Manager Jeff Luke echoed the praises of JDH Capital and the work undertaken by the team.
‘“It’s great to see Rhys rewarded for the hard work put in by himself and the team.
“We tried our best to get an R5 car here for the rally, but some last minute logistical issues stopped that.”
“Instead, we’ve replaced so much of the Fiesta that it looks and feels like a brand new car.”
The team will not be putting any huge expectations upon themselves for the rally.
“I’m coming to the event with zero seat time from Canberra. A pre-event test should help to get rid of any cobwebs,” Pinter added.
“I will have Phil Hall back in the car which is great for my confidence as we get along well.”
“We hope to have a clean run and get some decent times as we look towards the future.”
