A flat tyre approaching the conclusion of the 2012 Snake Racing Coffs Coast Forest Rally has prevented South Australia’s Guy Tyler from taking outright victory in the Rallyschool.com.au Australian Junior Challenge (RAJC), claiming second for the entire series and first at the Coffs event in the P3 class.

Guy’s opening day success had he and navigator Damian Reed filled with confidence of the weekend ahead. Realising how much was on the line in the result, the two had a strict focus on what they had to achieve.

"This was the biggest rally of my career so far, and we came so close to winning the RAJC. Going into the final stages of the event, we were in the box seat to win, however 5km into the 30km stage of Shipmans we picked up a flat tyre, putting our hopes of victory out of reach.

“Although we were upset at what had happened, we really could not be happier with our performance and increased speed over the weekend, which saw us posting times quicker than cars and crews with greater power than the Renault Clio,” Tyler said.

Being part of the RAJC has been an extensive learning experience for Guy and will add to his experience in his career moving ahead.

“I would like to thank Mick Ryan from Rallyschool for once again making the RAJC possible and to Brendan Reeves who sat in with me at the pre-event test and really helped me get all the speed possible out of the car.

“Finally, I’d like to thank our sponsors and crew who worked tirelessly on the Clio to get it to the end of the event, and I would like to extend congratulations to Adam Casmiri for his win in the RAJC,” Tyler concluded.
