Beat the Heat, run by off-duty police officers who promote legal off-street drag racing as a circuit breaker for at risk kids, are joining forces with Mountain Motorsports for the 2019/20 Australian Tarmac Rally Championship.
The distinctive, high performance vehicles of Beat the Heat will be the course cars for the series.
"This is the beginning of an exciting new relationship," said Peter Washington of Mountain Motorsports.
The 2019/20 championship will again consist of four rounds, Snowy River, The Great Tarmac Rally, Mount Baw Baw and Lake Mountain.
Tim Hendy, piloting his GT3 Porsche, will be hoping to win his fourth consecutive drivers’ championship when crews take on the first event of the 2019/20 series, the Snowy Mountain Sprint, held over the weekend of September 21 and 22 at Lakes Entrance, in beautiful East Gippsland, Victoria.
After their impressive showing last year, Dean Lillie of Ravage Race Works and the Lotus of Jeffrey Morton, along with previous Australian Tarmac Rally Champions, Craig Dean in a Mustang and Danny Traverso, driving his Evo, will be out to stop him.
The Morling Escort, having conceded back to back championships to the BMW of GluskieWinter Motor Sport, will want to reclaim Classic competition glory.
With only three weeks separating the first and second rounds of the championship, there will be no rest for the wicked, when crews head to Marysville and the Great Tarmac Rally, to be held over the weekend of October 12 and 13.
The Great Tarmac Rally is always the most anticipated event of the series, with the famous 37km Lake Mountain to Reefton descent and with crews tackling more than 240 competitive kilometres over the two days.
The third and fourth rounds of the series, Mt Baw Baw and Lake Mountain are held in February and March 2020.
As with previous years, championship contenders must compete in a minimum of three events, with double points on offer for the final round of the series, Lake Mountain.
