Sweden’s reigning FIA WRC2 champion, Pontus Tidemand, and former Swedish national champion, Jerker Axelsson, have joined forces to form a rally car company.
They have already acquired a Skoda Fabia R5 for use either for commercial rental or as a Plan B car for Tidemand, the stepson of Henning Solberg, to use in 2018.
Pontus Tidemand Racing has already begun work in recruiting team members for events both in Sweden and abroad.
At this time, Skoda Motorsport has not declared their intended programme for 2018 or named their official team drivers.
Axelsson brings to this company his commercial experience running Sweden’s biggest full service facility for motorcycles.
The association of Pontus and Jerker began in 2007 when they were both actively competing in the Norwegian Subaru Cup series.
