Although the organisers of the WRC Rally de Portugal have still not released details of the entry for their event (entries closed April 17), a second new championship WRC entry has been confirmed.

After Toyota Gazoo Racing announced that Portugal will see the debut of Esapekka Lappi in a Yaris WRC, OneBet Jipocar have announced that Martin Prokop will return to the WRC.

He will drive his last year’s car and compete in the WRC Trophy category using his old World Rally Car in Portugal.

Original hopes that Prokop would acquire a second 2017 Fiesta WRC to run alongside Mads Ostberg continue to be uncertain. Prokop also plans a Trophy entry in Sardinia as well.

At the moment, only three drivers have competed as WRCT competitors – Valeriy Gorban, Jourdain Serderidis and Lorenzo Bertelli.

Mini JCW WRC driver Gorban is leading the series with 50 points against Citroen DS3 WRC driver Serderidis’ 25 points.
