Australian rally speedster, Nathan Quinn, has shelved plans to contest April's Otago Rally at the wheel of a Ford Escort RS1800. The 2017 Australian Rally Champion was set to drive Jeff Judd's Escort in the popular classic rally, but will instead channel his funds in to a 2020 ARC program. "I’ve pulled out of Otago to put funds toward Perth," Quinn said. "I will line Otago up for next year when I’m getting ready to defend the Alpine Rally title." Quinn will begin his ARC campaign in next month's Netier National Capital Rally, driving Richie Dalton's Ford Fiesta Proto. He last drove the car at the Canterbury Rally in New Zealand in 2018, but will be back behind the wheel this week for an initial seat fitting. "The plan at this stage is to do Canberra, hopefully Perth, Coffs Harbour, and perhaps more events," Quinn added. He joins a growing list of competitors committing to the early rounds of the national championship following the recent ARC test day held in Victoria.
