Drivers were in a jovial mood at the pre-event Press Conference at Telstra Rally Australia this afternoon.

When asked about his disadvantage in starting first car on the road for Leg 1 of the event, Ford's number 1 driver Marcus Gronholm commented, "I'm expecting rain so it will be OK!"  Perhaps Marcus had checked the weather forecast, as grey clouds were looming overhead as he spoke.

Peugeot driver, Henning Solberg, older brother of SWRT's Petter, is in Australia to compete for the first time.  He was asked for his comments on the roads after completing recce and if the close proximity of the trees to the road was a concern.

Laughingly he replied, "I am very brave so I will be alright. You just have to forget about the trees and put your brain in the back seat!"  That could prove difficult as the Peugot has no back seat!
