New Zealand owned and operated race seat manufacturer, Racetech, have teamed up with the renowned Speedsport Scholarship to help fund the next generation of racing superstars in New Zealand through a seat auction on Trade Me.
While the seat, a RT4009, normally retails at NZ$1278, the starting bid on this charity auction starts at just NZ$600 with all proceeds going directly to the Speedsport Scholarship for the 2017 season.
Racetech’s managing director, David Black said he’s passionate about fostering Kiwi talent so it made perfect sense to support the Speedsport Charitable Trust through an auction of one of their most popular racing seats.
“The Speedsport Scholarship has provided a fantastic starting point for so many successful young New Zealand racing drivers. Racetech is proud to be supporting this great opportunity for young talent and encourage anyone with a passion for New Zealanders competing in motorsport around the world to assist and support where they can,” said Black.
The SpeedSport Scholarship programme is New Zealand’s most successful motorsport programme for young driver development. The annual SpeedSport Scholarship provides the winner with an entry programme into single-seater racing, with a fully funded drive in the New Zealand Formula First championship with the championship winning Sabre Motorsport team.
Founded in 2000 as a partnership between Sabre Motorsport and NZ SpeedSport magazine, the annual Scholarship has launched the careers of some of New Zealand’s best motor racing drivers including stars such as Richie Stanaway and Shane Van Gisbergen.
The auction can be found via this link [http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1145013419] and will end on Sunday 28 August at 9.00pm.
