Competitor Support Manager Sam Phillips expects a top-class international field to compete at Telstra Rally Australia to bid farewell to the event's 19-year history in Perth.
“Telstra Rally Australia has always been a popular rally amongst teams and competitors. Local competitors seem extremely keen to be a part of the final event and we expect all World Rally Championship (WRC) manufacturer teams except for Skoda to compete this year.
"Ninety-five per cent of Production World Rally Championship (PWRC) competitors have nominated Telstra Rally Australia as one of the six rounds they are required to enter as part of their championship,” he said.
There will be plenty of chances for Western Australian’s to see their heroes in action as they race on Gloucester Park’s twin-track Super Special Stage. This year rally fans can get even closer to the action thanks to the relocation of the start line to right in front of the main spectator area.
Entry to the Service Park will again be free of charge so fans can get a behind-the-scenes look at the team mechanics as they get the cars rally-worthy after a hard day out on the stages. The Service Park will be located at Langley Park, Terrace Road, Perth.
