The route for this year's Rally Australia will be released today, with much anticipation surrounding the Coffs Harbour-based World Rally Championship qualifier.

Speaking to the ABC on the mid-north coast, Rally Australia's general manager, Michael Masi, says the route stretches from the Nambucca to the Clarence Valley. He says there has been wide-ranging consultation and the final touches are complete.

"We've been working extremely hard with all of the various local government representatives at a number of levels," he said.

"Also the state government and the various state government agencies, to ensure that we've got as much as we can have planned at this point, ticked off by everyone."

Mr Masi says the announcement will be a key milestone in preparations for the event.

"There's a lot to do with less than 100 days to go," he said.

"Everyone will slowly see a transformation in a promotional sense across the Coffs Coast, in the way that businesses can get involved.

"Then we'll slowly be announcing some of our partners that have come to join us to assist in delivering what will be a fantastic opportunity to showcase this region."
