Australia’s Molly Taylor, the number one ranked female rally driver in the world, remains unlikely to contest Rally Australia in September, despite contesting six European rounds of the WRC this year.
Together with her mum, Coral, Taylor is one round into the six round Junior World Rally Championship program in a Citroen DS3, with her next event in Poland at the end of June.
However, she told RallySport Mag’s podcast that while Rally Australia would be a huge thrill to compete in, it is unlikely at this stage.
“I would absolutely love to do it, but at the moment all the resources are headed over to the junior program,” Taylor said.
“At the moment we still need to find a considerable amount of funding to make that program complete, to make it happen and get to the finish of it. So unless something else comes up, which I would definitely never say no to, at the moment it won’t be happening.”
Before then, however, she will co-drive for Harry Bates, son of Neal, in the Rally of the Bay on the June long weekend.
