This year’s Rally Of Lithgow is shaping up to be better than ever with the support of several new sponsors, including Delta Electricity.

Several international crews have expressed an interest in competing in the Rally of Lithgow, as a shakedown before the Rally of Canberra in May.

The event, to be held in the Hampton/Jenolan State Forest near Lithgow, is an easy 90 minute drive from the Sydney CBD, and will see the cream of NSW rally drivers contest round one of the NSW State Rally Championship.

After a six month lay-off, cars and drivers will come out of the gate firing to get that elusive points lead on the board for season 2008.

Forestry operations in the past 12 months, along with road works undertaken on behalf of the organizers, will see the 150 kilometres of competition take place on the best quality roads seen in the Hampton/Jenolan area in many years.

A gala main street start in Lithgow at 1pm on Saturday, May 3 will get the rally under way, with four spectator points all within easy reach of the central service park.

As always, officials are required to help run the event, so if you have always thought you’d like to be a little closer to the action, you can register online at www.rallyoflithgow.com - just follow the links to officials registration.
