Rally Tasmania officials are still waiting the results of tests on the engines of the first and second-placed cars of Allen Simonsen and Cody Crocker whose cars were the subject of examination after the finish of the event last month.

While there has been unofficial advice that no irregularities in the Walkden-built cars was found, organizers are still awaiting official advice from CAMS.

Walkden was confident from the outset that no irregularities would be found in either car, claiming that his organization would have more to lose than gain if they used motors that failed to comply with the regulations.

He was also concerned that any benefits that might have accrued from the outright placings of Simonsen and Crocker had now dispersed due to the length of time taken for the engines to be examined.

Organiser of Rally Tasmania are hopeful that an announcement will be made within the next week.
