The protests against the first two placegetters in February’s Rally Tasmania have been dismissed, confirming Allan Simonsen and Cody Crocker as the first two finishers.

At the conclusion of the 2007 Rally Tamania, John White, the entant of the car which provisionally finished third, protested against the eligibilty of the engines of cars entered by Les Walkden Rallying.

Subsequently, the engines were sealed at the conclusion of the event and were dismantled and examined by Geoff Beechey and Peter Lawrence, of CAMS.

After considerring a report from the examination of the engines in question the eligibilty committe found that no irregularities were found between the specifications of the engines from the cars under protest and those shown in the relevant homologation papers.

On the basis of this information the protest was unsuccessful and therefore the provisional results can now be confirmed.
