Rally tragedy in South Australia
- 19th June 2006, 2:41pm
A 38-year-old Light Pass man died instantly when the car he was in collided head-on with another car on Moss Smith Road about 2.45pm.
Three other people in the cars were injured in the crash and one of them, a man, was seriously hurt.
He was flown to Royal Adelaide Hospital and another man and a woman were taken to Mt Pleasant Hospital.
Senior Sergeant Ken Raymond, from the police major crash unit, said the crash happened during an organised practice event.
"The road was closed from 9.20am for cars to practice on, but there should not have been more than one car on the road at one time," he said. "It was an unfortunate event and there has been some miscommunication amongst the organisers."
