Currently sitting in third outright in the Australian Rally Championship, the Raymond Partners Accountants Rally Team of Glen and Matt Raymond are excited about this weekend’s Quit Forest Rally to be held in Busselton, WA.

Known for its infamous ball bearing gravel, the forests around Western Australia’s Nannup provide some of the most exciting stages in the Australian Rally Championship.

"These roads are the most challenging, yet most enjoyable in the championship," stated driver Glen Raymond. "The little rock marbles create some slippery conditions, but it also means the car will move and slide around which is what rallying is all about!"

Despite the slippery conditions, Raymond is confident heading into the event.

"Steve (my brother) and I have worked hard on finding a suitable set-up for the Toyota Corolla. As a driver himself, we can work together and are finding more speed every event. Matched with Pirelli tyres, the car should provide the grip to cut through the gravel to the hard base underneath."

As a small budget team residing in country Victoria, the trip across the Nullarbor has been made easier by the current Australian Rally Champion, Neal Bates.

"The trip to WA does create a logistical headache," said team manager Roy Raymond. "As we are one of few crews without a truck, we are very thankful for Neal (Bates) who is transporting our car and equipment to the event."

After the show of speed at Rally of Canberra and the meticulous preparation at Mammi Motors, the team is looking forward to when action starts this Friday night with a Tarmac Super Special Stage in the seaside town of Busselton.

The Rally of Canberra, where Glen and Matt finished overcame mechanical dramas to finish third outright, will be televised this Sunday, April 5 at 1.30pm on Channel TEN.

The team would like to thank its supporters who make it possible to compete at national level: Raymond Partners Accountants, JNJ Electrical Contractors, Bendigo Bank, Premium Electrical Services, Global Energy Solutions, Mammi Motors, Pirelli Tyres, Blackwell Bodyworks, Quality Site Welding, Melbourne Performance Centre, Legible Signs, Moe Engines, Jen's Dinkum Discounts and VicParts.
