Legendary Finnish rally driver, Pentti Airikkala, has passed away after a long illness, aged 64.
Born on September 4, 1945, Airikkala contested 37 WRC rounds, driving for Vauxhaul, Ford, Mitsubishi, Lancia and Nissan.
His biggest victory was on the Lombard RAC Rally in 1989, when he drove a Mitsubishi Galant VR4 to victory, ahead of Carlos Sainz.
Airikkala last competed on the Wales Rally GB in 2003.
After a year-long illness, the Finn passed away peacefully on September 30.
