The Australian Rally Championship is moving into a new era with the creation of the “UNRESTRICTED” ARC Car Class and the support of Bosch for the 2011 series, and so is Smart Motorsport.

Ryan’s sister and 2010 co-driver, Rebecca Smart, has joined Molly Taylor in her Ford Focus R2 in the WRC Academy for 2011, leaving the position open for John Allen in 2011.

“John has been a family friend for a long time and it seemed a good fit,” Ryan said at the Forest Rally Test Day.

“We are all really excited for Rebecca and Molly and we hope they do well. It’s also great for
me to have someone else in the car. Rebecca and I really learnt the ropes together and now with John’s experience I can work on more things this year.”

Ryan’s Toyota Corolla has also undergone some changes, it will be running “LESS-RESTRICTED” in this year’s BOSCH ARC to try and keep in step with the new “UNRESTRICTED” ARC Cars.

The Corolla is also sporting a new paint job focusing on promoting the new website. www.smartmotorsport.com.au is LIVE now! Get online and keep up to date with Ryan and John in the ARC and Molly and Rebecca in the WRC Academy.

The first round of the Australian Rally Championship the QUIT Forest Rally starts on Friday.
