Sesks returns to Rally1 for Chile

With two fantastic performances in Poland and Latvia under his belt, Sesks now sets his sights on the challenge of next month’s Rally Chile. The Latvian driver’s debut performances in the FIA World Rally Championship left a strong impression which has earned him the opportunity to once again drive the non-hybrid Puma Rally1 on the championship’s South American round.

Sesks made his debut in top-level WRC machinery in Poland at the wheel of the non-hybrid Puma variant. It would be a debut that dreams were made of, seeing him claim one second-fastest and multiple top-five times throughout the event, even without the additional power boost from the hybrid unit. Sesks finished the event in an incredible fifth-overall and duly built strong global interest for his next appearance on his home event, Rally Latvia, only a couple of weeks later.

Upgrading to full hybrid power in Latvia, Sesks would not disappoint. Astounding fans and his fellow drivers alike, Sesks would claim not only his maiden stage win, but also a second stage win on Friday morning, and would continue to fight for podium positions throughout the entire weekend. Increasing his fan base exponentially, and showing the extent of his talent, Sesks had firmly written himself into becoming one of the household names of the WRC.

The two incredible results have allowed Sesks to find additional funding to allow for his next opportunity in Rally1. Rally Chile, the last gravel round of the championship, will give the young Latvian a chance to show his speed on unfamiliar roads. Although Sesks can look to benefit from familiar smooth and fast sections found in Rally Chile, this will still be a big challenge having never competed at the event before and having to make new pacenotes from scratch. The chance to drive in the event with the Puma is a great addition for not only Rally Chile themselves, but also the WRC.

Sesks’ third opportunity to drive a Rally1 car in Chile is a testament to the continued commitment of the WRC Promoter in nurturing young talent into the top-flight category. Their ongoing support for emerging drivers has been pivotal in his breakthrough performances in Poland and Latvia, underscoring their dedication to advancing his career.
