After yesterday’s media day for the 2011 Bosh Australian Rally Championship, the SACHS rally team are back on deck at GSA in Brisbane, adding the final touches to the car in preparation for next weekend's Quit Forest Rally in Perth.Â
The Sachs Evolution 10 has just come back from the boys at Accord Bodyworks where they have made the car look great for the start of the season. The sign writers have just finished applying the livery, ready for scrutineering tonight, and the car will then be packed in the truck on Friday for the trip across Australia to Busselton, south of Perth ready for round 1 of this year's Championship.
Driver Steve Shepheard is full of excitement and is confident of a great result.
“UNRESTRICTED and ready for action,” Steve said. “It’s going to be a great season and I am really looking forward to the event. Last season we went into the final round fighting for second outright in the series, so there is no reason why we can not be fighting for first.”
The Sachs Evolution 10 Lancer has been modified to take advantage of the new ARC car class rules. “They fully pimped my ride," laughed Shepheard. “We gave the car a short test down at the WRX Experience on the Gold Coast - it was great to drive, a bit of a handful with no turbo restrictor, but I can not wait to get it onto the forest roads at Busselton.”
This year we are excited to have some new names on the car. “Pram Warehouse in Brisbane have jumped on board, they have six stores in Brisbane as well as a big online store, and believe the ARC to be a great chance for them to get their name out across Australia. Just like in the rally car we have a full harness as does a baby seat!"
Rallying is a time based sport where seconds count and in 2011 we will be keeping time on our LDL Watch. They are available through Ledger and Co and have a fantastic range.
