The April Fool’s Day running of the Silver City Rally is welcome news for South Australian rallying, and organisers have put out a last-minute call for entries.
Run out of Broken Hill by the Barrier Sporting Car Club, the event will return on April 1st and organisers Brett and Bec Baldwin have masterminded 300 competitive kilometres of running with limited liaison sections.
As a returning event, the team is looking at a successful return to the calendar, with the possibility of the rally returning to its rightful home in the state rally championship in 2024.
Notable entries to the event thus far include the ex-Craig Lowndes Safari Holden Ute.
“It’s great to see this event coming back to life, and to have Brett & Bec so committed to getting this up and running,” South Australian Rally Panel spokesperson, Daren Herring said.
“The rally was once a part of the South Australian Rally Championship and given the proper support from SARC competitors, other supporters and potential sponsors, it would be awesome see this event come home and be part of the SA state series once more.”
Entries for the event are closing on March 1st, and prospective competitors are encouraged to enter via the Motorsport Australia member portal.
