The next installment of The Australian Tarmac Rally Championship is fast approaching, with the final round in the four-strong AASA Australian Tarmac Rally Championship, the Snowy River Sprint, set for the weekend of 23 – 24 November, 2013.
Competitors and touring class participants will enjoy a massive 320 kilometres of competitive closed road stages through the winding forest roads west of Lakes Entrance.
This event is truly one of the great tarmac rallies in Australia, with twenty stages on fantastic roads and minimal liaison distances in between them to save fuel and tyres - and prevent fatigue. The rally stage start is only 850 metres from the service park!
The short liaisons and tightly-packed field ensure a full day's racing each leg – and promises great value for money. The entry fee for Modern cars set at just $2,650, which works out at $8.99 per competitive kilometre – arguably the best value tarmac rally in the country.
Touring competitors who wish to sample these fantastic closed roads at a swift pace, but without the expense of a rollcaged race car, can drive the same 20 special stages as the competition field for just $600 per car. Share the cost and the wheel with a friend, or give the entry as a gift for someone you know!
The coastal holiday destination of Lakes Entrance also has a vast array of accommodation to suit any budget, and is situated just four hours from Melbourne and eight hours' drive from Sydney. The rally will be based out of the Central Hotel (321 Esplanade, Lakes Entrance), and a cocktail party will be held on the Saturday evening, and the following evening, the Snowy River winners presentation and 2013 Championship presentation is guaranteed to keep everyone revelling until the wee hours of Sunday night!
Entry forms and recce information are now available on www.australiantarmacrally.com, and the start and finish points of each stage have been clearly marked on the tarmac to make the process easier for competitors.
