33-year old Spanish driver, Dani Sordo, has been ruled medically unfit for competing on Rally Finland because of a back injury suffered in his pre-Neste Rally cash in the team’s 2016 version test car. Â
He was entered by the Hyundai Motorsport Mobis N team in a NG i20 WRC, and will be replaced by Kevin Abbring. Â
This will be Dani’s second WRC event missed through injuries. He injured his ribs in a mountain bike accident before the Swedish Rally 2015, about 18 months ago. Â
The pre Neste Rally test session, which was interrupted by the crash and the subsequent team investigation as to how a part appeared to fail on the car, is to be resumed the weekend before the start of the rally. Â - Martin HolmesÂ
