Citroen driver Dani Sordo was the fastest in the shakedown for this weekend's Rally d'Italia Sardegna.

Over the 2.95 kilometre Monte Plebi test located 15.47 kilometres north-west from the service park in Olbia, Sordo was just 0.1 of a second faster than Ford's Mikko HIrvonen, followed by Marcus Gronholm and young Finnish star Juho Hanninen in a priveately entered Mitsubishi World Rally Car.

Subaru's Petter Solberg and Citroen's Sebastien Loeb were fifth and sixth respectively. Toni Gardemeister completed the short stage seventh in the Lancer WRC05 and was followed by Chris Atkinson's Subaru.

Rounding the top ten were Ford duo of Henning Solberg and Matthew Wilson.
