With a longer than expected break courtesy of COVID-19, current SA Rally Champion, Zayne Admiraal, has been busy rebuilding his Subaru WRX ready to take on the challenges of a shortened 2020 rally season.
The season will kick off this weekend at the PMD Forest Rally Sprint at Mount Gambier, where the reigning champion will begin his title defence in a car that features a brand new engine and a fresh new livery.
Leader Computers, Ampl Auto and Read Signs will all adorn the new look.
Admiraal and co-driver, Matthew Heywood, are looking forward to the first event and recognise the strong competition that will come from the high-quality field.
2015 state champions, Guy Tyler and Michael Dale, will be strong competition, but he also believes the Mt Gambier locals, including 2017 champion Aaron Bowering, will be feeling confident racing on their home turf, ensuring a tough and competitive event.
“It’s been a very long but busy off-season for us, but I’m looking forward to putting all our hard work to the test on Sunday,” Admiraal explained.
“I’m also really excited for the future with Leader Computers.
“We have some interesting projects in development, which will hopefully be on show at Adelaide Hills Rally in October!” he added.
The Adelaide Hills Rally will be the state championship competitors’ opportunity to put themselves up against the Australian Rally Championship regulars.

Zayne Admiraal is the reigning South Australian Rally Champion.
