To enhance the series, Stadium Finance will continue to produce online videos at each of the events.
In previous seasons, the productions have just covered Stadium supported drivers, but in 2017 will cover off class winners and young up and coming drivers. The videos will be distributed around social media, with recent examples reaching more than 10,000 people.
The team at Stadium Finance have supported dozens of South Island drivers in the recent past, most notably WRC star Hayden Paddon, who cut his rallying teeth in the Mainland Series before moving onto national and then international fame.
“When the opportunity came up to get involved with an iconic series like the Mainland Rally Championship, it really was a no brainer for us to get involved,” says Tony Gosling of Stadium Finance.
“What this means is that young up and coming drivers can get some good coverage to promote themselves and their sponsors, which is obviously a vital part of the sport moving forward.”
The Stadium Finance Mainland Rally Championship kicks off in Greymouth with the Westland Rally on March 4th, followed by rounds in Dunedin (April 8), Christchurch (June 4), Nelson (July 8), Catlins Coast (August 12), Hanmer Springs (September 2), before the finale just north of Timaru on September 23.
