Organisers are putting the final touches to months of preparation for the region’s premier rally - the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire - which gets underway early on Friday evening, September 24 in Scarborough.

The town’s Deputy Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor John Blackburn and Mrs Jackie Blackburn, will flag away the International section, which forms the final round of the Dulux Trade MSA British Championship, at 7pm, following an hour of the cars being paraded and crews signing autographs.

They then do a testing 16.12 mile stage on the North York Moors, in semi or total darkness, before returning to Scarborough and recommencing the battle on Saturday morning, when they will be joined by the supporting Trackrod Historic, National, Clubmans and BRC Challenge rallies - over 140 vehicles of all shapes and sizes in total.

Competitors come from all parts of the country and much further a field - Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Latvia - with newly crowned British Ladies Champion, Molly Taylor, probably travelling the furthest - from Sydney, Australia!

The all-gravel event comprises 8 stages covering 198 miles, 86 of which are competitive.
