The Innate Motorsports + Events Queensland Rally Championship gets off to a start this Saturday with the Inspirations Paint Capalaba Hinterland Rally. The forestry roads of Imbil will be the location for another fully subscribed dirt rallying event in Queensland. The rally will incorporate the first round of the championship and clubman series, and the third round of the novice series. “We’ve got 52 crews entered with the service park at capacity in terms of COVID-19 restrictions,” Malcolm Bartolo, Clerk of Course, said. “I must say the response for officials has been amazing, we have around 170 volunteers, so much so that we can’t accept anymore.” Having no spectating means fans that missed out on volunteering will have to stay at home and watch online. The Queensland Rally Media team will be working hard out in the field and doing interviews throughout the day to deliver content via Facebook on the Offical Page of the Queensland Rally Championship. Results can also be tracked via the www.rallyresults.com.au website.

This year the Innate Motorsports + Events Queensland Rally Championship has large contingent of Townsville based teams making the very long drive to Imbil. Bolstering the field further is a number of central Queensland crews, making for a true state competition. It will be a close race, with drivers like Brinkman, Carrigan, Menzies, Jansen and Johnsson battling over 106km competitive kilometres on a ‘blind’ non-pacenoted event. “In terms of event organisation everything is going very well. Permits went through well, quotas for officials filled and we even had some successful roadworks conducted to smooth out some of the rougher parts of the road,” Bartolo added. “I really need to thank the core organising team behind me that all have done a great job, our four stage commanders and all the volunteers heading out into the forest for the day. “Also, Innate Motorsport + Events for sponsoring the championship and for Marius Swart at Inspirations Paint Capalaba for once again sponsoring this event.”
