Summit Rally Team announced its plans for a full assault on the 2012 two wheel drive Australian Rally Championship in front of a crowd of media at this week’s Rally Calder launch.

Will Orders was at the launch providing VIP rides with one of the team’s fire breathing 400bhp turbocharged, rear wheel drive Nissan Silvias.

The team will be full of youthful exuberance but also considerable experience as Will Orders and Rian Calder will pilot the first of the Summit Rally Team cars, and brothers Ross and Scott Allan will drive the second car. Summit Rally Team has committed to the full ARC calender for 2012 with both cars and promises to take it up to whatever challenges come their way.

Long-time supporter, Hilary Evans of Summit Innovations, is throwing everything at the team in an effort to clinch some manufacturer support for the coming years and is confident that the team will not disappoint.

The second of the two Nissan Silvias is currently being prepared at the Summit Rally Team headquarters in Keysborough, a suburb of Melbourne, by their full time mechanic, Hayden Taylor. Hayden brings with him many years of experience and technical knowledge, ensuring the cars are world class.

In the meantime, however, Will Orders and Ross Allan are to compete head to head at the Rallyschool.com.au Australian Junior Challenge Final to be held at the Coffs Coast Forest Rally from September 8-10.
