Super Rally: it all started with an Aussie idea

These days, retiring on the first day of a rally usually means licking your wounds and coming back the next day once you have your car repaired, but it hasn’t always been like that.

In fact, before 1996, if you retired from a Australian Rally Championship event you were done, and were forced to head home with your tail between your legs, with eyes firmly on the next rally on the program.
