TargaRacing.com.au have come away victorious in the Australian Tarmac Rally Championship after a third place podium finish in the 2011 Targa Tasmania event.
Driver Andrew Mckay and Navigator Alex Hailstone from Melbourne and Sydney completed the season in their leased showroom Mazda MX5 prepared by Chris Gough of MX5 and Targa Racing.
This is the second podium finish for McKay and Hailstone after their second place finish at Targa High Country.
Chris Gough, team principal said: "We are ecstatic with this win, taking our team victories to first and third in Showroom and second in category 7 Early Modern with Targaracing.com.au Marketing Director Adam Spence at the wheel."
"As newcomers to Targa events Andrew and Alex have performed with both skill and strategic vision, something every team needs to ensure their season ends on such a high note."
The team would also like to congratulate Adam Dodd and Lee Challoner-Miles on their third place in the Australian Championship.
“We are really looking forward to seeing what all our teams are capable of with the 2012 season fast approaching,” Gough said.
