The Forecast: 2022 Rally Estonia

Rally Estonia again plays host to the WRC this weekend, and picking a winner is quite the task.

For some, the favourite should be the hometown hero, Ott Tanak, but as wet weather lashes the rally’s base, the more championship leader, Kalle Rovanpera, comes into consideration for favouritism.

At a dry rally, Rovanpera is disadvantaged by his position as the first car on the road, but heavy rain on recce could hang around for Friday’s opening leg.

If that’s the case, it would be the runaway championship leader who will have the advantage, and one would be brave to bet against him.

Looking further afield, M-Sport Ford’s Craig Breen could also be considered a chance to chase the win.
