The 2012 Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally will be held from May 18th to May 20th 2012 with 26 stages covering 215km competitive distance.

The event will start on Friday May 18th with a prologue at Malalla Motorsport Park before completing 6 stages on the way back through the beautifully tight and twisty roads of the Adelaide Hills to the home of the event in the picturesque McLaren Vale.

Saturday will have 12 stages run from the seaside town of Victor Harbor through to Yankalilla and around the Wine region of McLaren Vale. This includes a new stage never before run on. Saturday will also have the inclusion of the South Australian Rally Championship competitors.

Competitors will be based out of Macclesfield on the Sunday with 8 stages based around Maccie and Strathalbyn with a brand new stage outside of Mt Barker that is sure to be of great interest.

This year’s Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally has a number of variants to suit all motorsport enthusiasts.  There is a Tour section with non-competition cars escorted through all event courses in packets, a Rookie event that will be on the Sunday, for those that wish to dip their toe into Tarmac Rallying.  This year is also the inaugural Showroom category in the 2012 CAMS Australian Tarmac Rally Championship, for those with cars less than 10 years old and with minor modifications as listed in the CAMS Australian Tarmac Rally Championship Regulations.

With the big changes and additional freedoms to the CAMS Australian Tarmac Rally Championship regulations we believe that many more cars will be eligible to compete in 2012 giving the Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally something for everyone.
