Since the return of Toyota to the World Rally Championship in 2017, the Japanese manufacturer has run a standard white-based livery with red and black highlights. However, in 2024, they will run a mostly black car, with the ‘GR’ logo highlighted in red and black.

The matt-black livery concept considers two main focuses of Toyota: speed and ‘prototype’.

Speed is said to refer to Toyota’s spirit of ‘hate to lose’, while ‘prototype’ is a nod to the brand making ever-better motorsports-bred cars.

Seeing an all-new livery in the WRC will be seen as a positive by many, as Hyundai and Toyota’s colours have remained mostly the same for several years.

The 2024 FIA World Rally Championship season begins in late January with the traditional opener, Rallye Monte Carlo.
