The Australian Rally Championship announced the news on social media on Tuesday morning, stating simply:

“The protest lodged by Car 2 has since been withdrawn. Results will be finalised and confirmed shortly.”

Harry Bates and Coral Taylor had been leading the event until booking into a time control early saw them slapped with a one minute penalty.

It dropped them to an eventual finishing place of sixth, and saw Nathan Quinn and Ray Winwood-Smith take the Heat 2 win, and the overall Forest Rally victory.
