Hyundai Motorsport has announced their contract with 33 year old Dani Sordo, who has been with them for three years, has been extended until the end of 2018.
Sordo finished second at Rallye Deutschland last weekend, his best recent result since gaining the same place two years ago on the same event.
Incredibly, it was the TWENTY-THIRD time Sordo has finished runner-up in a world championship event!
Sordo is currently the second most experienced WRC driver, headed only by Jari-Matti Latvala. His first WRC appearance was in Catalunya Rally in 2003 when he finished second in Group N, but during all that time he has only managed to win one WRC event, Rallye Deutschland in 2013.
His result in Rallye Deutschland this year was especially notable, coming after he had to miss the recent Neste Rally Finland because of injuries sustained in pre-event testing for that event.
