Australian rallying has lost a legend of the sport, with the passing of larrikin rally driver Ed Mulligan.
Just a week after competing in the Otago Classic Rally in New Zealand, the much-loved Mulligan passed away in a road accident after suffering a medical episode on Saturday, April 12.
His passing leaves a lifetime of friends, acquaintances and fellow competitors mourning the sudden loss of a great man – one who was also quick with a joke (usually inappropriate!), a great story, or just a playful dig at whoever he was chatting to.
RallySport Magazine will have an obituary of Ed Mulligan in the coming days, along with details of his funeral.
Rest in peace Ed, you’ll be sorely missed.
