Although there were plans for a two-day rally, Victoria's Valley Stages has confirmed a one-day event for Sunday, September 20 this year. As a round of the Victorian Rally Championship, the Western Victorian Crane Trucks sponsored event will again be based at the Yarra Glen racecourse. "With restrictions starting to ease, it's looking like we may get our season started sooner than later," an event statement explained. "We have received correspondence from the VRP requesting the Western Victorian Valley Stages only run one day format. We respect their decision and are NOW full steam ahead in putting the event together." After a test day on the Friday, the rally will offer 150km of competitive stages, with a fully patented format. There will be no bitumen stage this year, with stage favourites such as Mt Slide, Marginal Road and Blow Hard returning. "The organisers are very keen to get the event together and hopefully we can have spectators, as Blowhard was very successful last year and produced a large crowd," the event statement added.
