Ole Christian Veiby will debut for the factory Skoda team when he drives at this month’s Wales Rally GB. Veiby, who is currently competing in the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship, has competed in six WRC events in 2017. He won the WRC2 class in Poland, in what was an impressive debut win. Podiums in Italy and Sweden have added to his successful 2017, which includes the Pacific Cup APRC title. At only 21 years of age, he looks to be following in the footsteps of fellow Norwegian world rally stars, Andreas Mikkelsen and Mads Ostberg, creating a further logjam of young rally stars. Veiby, alongside Skoda teammates, Pontus Tidemand and Jusso Nordgren are all vying for future World Rally Car drives. Add these names to a list which includes Teemu Suninen, Eric Camilli, Jari Huttunen and Kalle Rovanpera, and you’ve got an impressive list of young drivers. The fight for sought after WRC spots is becoming harder and harder. Wales Rally GB will run from the 26th to 29th of October.

The Skoda Motorsport team have entered three cars into Wales Rally GB.
