Ole Christian Veiby is to drive a Citroen C3 R5 run by PH Sport on the forthcoming Wales Rally GB and then Rally Catalunya, although he was entered on WRGB in a Skoda Fabia R5, albeit privately.
He had been a junior member of Skoda Motorsport this year and gained WRC2 podium positions in their cars in Sweden and Argentina.
Skoda Motorsport issued a statement that Veiby and his co-driver “will leave the factory team”, while father-manager, Erik Veiby, declined to confirm or deny rumours which suggested Veiby had been dismissed on account of misconduct.
It has been alleged that he posted commercially sensitive images on social media.
Apart from his drive on WRGB it is not known whether Veiby would have been entered by Skoda Motorsport on any other rallies this year.
