The first round of the 2011 Batronic Hyundai Rally Series is about to kick off at the East Gippsland Stages this weekend.

The series this year has attained a new sponsor in the form of 99R High Performance Brake Pads.

The winner of each round this year will receive a set of 99R brake pads to suit the little Excels, giving crews the opportunity to sample ARC winning performance from their brakes. The 99R Hyundai Excel pad is designed as a direct OEM replacement, so it fits straight into the original calliper with no cutting or modification required.

First developed for the ultra-competitive Argentinean Rally Championship by Barattero Motorsport Group, 99R brake pads have found there way into everything from stock car racing to the WRC and Dakar Rally.

During last years ARC, they were used with great success by the Raymond Partners Accountants rally team, culminating with a victory at the season ending Rally Victoria.

It’s not often that competitors at the lower levels of motorsport have access to such high performance equipment, but 99R are certainly doing their best to provide a very good product at an affordable price, to anyone from club level motorsport right through to the professionals.
