Volkswagen will announce its 2012 World Rally Championship (WRC) entry at Rally d'Italia Sardegna, according to autosport.com.
The German manufacturer is expected to reveal details of their WRC program at a press conference on Thursday, May 5.
"I cannot comment on anything at the moment," a VW spokesman told Autosport.
VW were forced to postpone their initial announcement at Portugal last month due to the final signatures not being in place.
Volkswagen are expected to reveal details of a selected WRC campaign in 2012 before a full assault in 2013. A VW Polo WRC is strongly tipped as the model they will use.
Meanwhile, Petter Solberg and Nasser Al-Attiyah are thought to be on the verge of signing for the VW WRC team.
