Craig and Julie Moody along with their son Sam are one of the families to lose everything in the Parkville fires just outside of Perth.
The fire, started by a tree falling onto power wires in high winds, spread rapidly taking out two properties and lots of sheds and infrastructure in the area.
The Moody family lost their house including all their possessions, plus several vehicles.
One of those vehicles was Sam’s rally car which he was intending to compete in the 2024 West Australian 2WD Rally Championship.
Julie lost all her camera gear as well. Luckily Craig was able to save the family pets before the fire took hold.
Craig is Vice President of the BORMSA Car Club who run grass roots motorsport events out of Beverly while Julie is a member of the West Australian State Rally Panel and a volunteer firefighter in the Parkville area.
Most people know Sam as he competed in the Clubman part of the West Australian Rally Championship this year on his ‘P’ plates as a 16 years old. Sam is also Junior Committee member for Light Car Club of Western Australia.
If anybody can help this fellow rally family out, a GoFund Me page has been set up to support them.
