Some of Western Australia's most high profile rallying people have banded together to open PowerPlay Perth, the state's first two-level indoor kart track. Two-time Asia-Pacific Champion co-driver, Glenn Macneall, is CEO of the new group, which hope to make motorsport more accessible. Joining Macneall in the partnership is Maximum Motorsport's Dean Herridge, former ARC competitor Brad Markovic and well-known event organisers Peter and Denise Macneall. “The two-level track has hairpin bends, sweeping corners and a tunnel, and it’s built wider-than-normal especially for power slides and fast cornering,” Glenn Macneall said. “We’ve taken the thrill of motorsport and packaged it up to make it accessible to everyone, especially for those who like an adrenaline rush – it’s just so much fun.” With karts imported from France and the track imported from Italy, the new entertainment venue is not just for first timers. The karts have adjustable seats and pedals, a carbon fibre F1 steering wheel, a roll bar and four-point belts.

Former Subaru driver Dean Herridge is a partner of the business.

“The world-class safety system at PowerPlay can slow karts, set maximum speeds, which is great for children, and we can instantly shut off one or all karts at once, if required.” Open seven days per week 10am to 9pm, PowerPlay Perth is 20 minutes from Perth’s CBD, just off the freeway at 136 Winton Road, Joondalup.
