For the younger generation in Australia, Wedding Bells is like their Bannister North; it was the pinnacle of Rally Australia.
And within that pinnacle, a stretch of road was used constantly that depicted all there is about Rally Australia and the challenges that it created.
Heading through the water splash, turning right onto Flooded Gum Road and traversing up the hill before turning down Turpentine Road was completed several times on live television and beamed around the world for all to see.
Then, in 2018, it was switched the other way for rally competition. The reverse of the above was completed to finish the event. This time, down the hill and over an even bigger jump.
Everyone would flock to Wedding Bells to see the dramatic finale and the podium presentation of the world’s best in our own backyard.
It created images and memories to last a generation.
