Promoters of this year’s Wales Rally GB have announced the attendance of former World Champion Marcus Gronholm at this year’s event.
Unfortunately this is only to be for promotional purposes, rather than as a competitor.

Details about November’s Central Rally Aichi/Gifu, Rally Japan’s test rally for their anticipated entry into the WRC have been announced.
The rally will run in an area close to that used by last year’s candidate Shinshiro Rally, east of Nogoya. One stage location is planned to be the same.

Jari-Matti Latvala explained his puncture when leading Day 1 of Rally Finland:
“It happened in a right-hand corner. Last year they had concrete on the inside of a corner to stop people cutting but this year they removed the concrete, so I made my notes faster and that was my mistake. I hit a rock the size of a head and damaged the car.”
Meeke speaking about his demise said: “Gutted. We hit a massive rock in fifth gear which broke the suspension. Spectators said it wasn’t there this morning and must have rolled down from the bank. Same place as Latvala”.
