Supaloc Racing confirmed today that reining SA Tarmac Rally Champions, Andrew Burnard and Brian Virgo together with Kevin Weeks and John Allen will both be entering this years asp / Cut Price Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally to be held on roads in the Fleurieu Peninsula region in South Australia later this month.

The pair will campaign the Supaloc Mitsubishi EVO VIII crewed by Burnard and Virgo together with the sensational fire breathing Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera R with the Weeks / Allen pairing in an all out effort to claim a dual podium finish for the Team at this year’s exciting event.

Kevin and Andrew not only enjoy the competitive nature of tarmac rallying, but also team up together as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Steel Building Systems Australia, the manufacturers and marketers of Supaloc steel framing.

“This is a great opportunity for Kevin and I, not only to work together but also to share our passion for tarmac rallying and like our approach to business, it’s all about winning.” Andrew said when the news came through of the dual entry, however he would not go further when asked if there were any Team orders, only saying, “Lamborghini versus Mitsubishi, no contest!”

The two cars will be supported during the event by Supaloc Racings crew, lead by Oscar Fiorinotto, who continue to push the boundaries in automotive technology, not only in the development of the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera R, but also in the development of the Supaloc damper and suspension systems run in the Mitsubishi EVO.

Kevin and John will no doubt be out to put some rally miles in the newly built Lamborghini, but will be a clear favourite for outright honours for the event.

“We want to compete in our home state and give the spectators the opportunity to see this special car in action.  While we acknowledge the Lambo has superior performance, we still have to keep it on the road to finish. It will be a special event for Supaloc racing to have two cars competing from the one team.  Andrew and I are not only business associates but good friends as well, and this will be a great weekend to spend some out of the office time together pursuing our joint passion, Tarmac rallying,” said Kevin.

The sights and sounds of the Supaloc Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera R will be a real thrill for spectators as this outstanding motor vehicle traverses the hills of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
