The Australian Rally Championship is growing in interest among competitors and manufacturers, as well as fans, and one of the reasons is due to the expansive range of cars that are now eligible to be competitive in the outright standings.
The homologated classes of R5 and AP4 are ever present, but over the past few years the class of G4 has become more and more prevalent.
G4 cars have been mainly run by Justin Dowel’s Activ RallySport team, with the operation running Troy Dowel and JJ Hatton in Hyundai i20 G4s, as well as Richie Dalton’s Ford Fiesta G4, before he moved to a Toyota Yaris AP4.
