Wilderide Rally Team will again tackle the gravel roads of Nannup in their Cambray Sheep Cheese liveried Subaru at the 2011 Quit Forest Rally held 15-17 April.

South West local twins Tom and Nerralie Wilde, the 2010 WA rally champions, were last year’s winners of the state section of the event and finished a very credible 6th outright in their ARC debut. This year they hope to match their 2010 performance, but have yet another exciting challenge to contend with.

The Quit Forest Rally will also play host to young rally contenders from around Australia, being the first qualifying round for the new Rallyschool.com.au Australian Junior Challenge (RAJC).  Open to under-28 year olds, the three fastest 4WD qualifying teams, plus 1 wildcard will battle it out at Australia’s round of the World Rally Championship in NSW.  The Wilde twin’s sights are set on being the first 4WD team to qualify and secure their place in the final.

The twins are the only WA team to register for the 4WD section and will need to hold off stiff competition from 2 interstate junior teams. “with the Forest Rally being our home event this will obviously be our best chance to qualify”, said Wilde “We are quite confident we have the speed and experience at this event to be able to beat the other drivers, but like in any motorsport things don’t always go in your favour”.  If the team fail to qualify at the Quit Forest Rally, they plan to travel to South Australia for the 3rd and final qualifying round held in July.

The team hope to have the chance to make WA proud by competing in and winning the final event and to be crowned the 2011 Inaugural RAJC Champions. “We see this as a great opportunity to showcase our current sponsors to a wider audience, and to attract new sponsors looking to market themselves in WA and nationally” said Wilde.

The team have once again entrusted the very capable services of Busselton Subaru Service, and Donnybrook Panel Beaters to have the car prepared for the 2011 season.

To see the twins competing in their Wendys Bunbury Forum sponsored Subaru WRX, get down to Barnhard Park in Busselton for the evening super stages and out to the forestry roads of Nannup to cheer on the teams as they bounce, jump and slide over some of Australia’s most challenging rally stages.  For spectator information go to www.rallywa.com
